  1. Just managed to write up a recent walk from Grasmere. Took in Helm Crag,
Calf Crag then horseshoe'd back via Dead Pike.

It was a bit of a hectic weekend after getting off the overnight boat from
Rotterdam in Hull on the Saturday (19th Nov). It was freezing early doors.
Did Pendle Hill in Lancashire, which was great, as I managed to bag the
Beacon before hundreds of runners got anywhere near. Never saw a one of
    them :-)

A quick pint in the Pendle Witch (Moorhouse's Mmmm) before visiting the
Mother-in-Law and collecting the wife. Well I suppose life must have
    balance :-/

Sunday dawned and together with a pal of mine drove up to Grasmere. What a
bind with all the roadworks going on in the Lakes. Took ages getting there
and we didn't get started until just after 11am.

Virtually flew up the short hop to Helm Crag and parked atop of the Lion's
head. Spectacular weather made some great shots. Came down via Dead Pike,
which was a nice way off. To boot a great pint of Cumberland at the
    Travellers Rest.

Went back home Monday - phew, but what a great weekend :-)

Hope you all had a great Christmas and wishing everyone a prosperous New
