Dr. Edward A. Patrick of Union, Kentucky, has gone on record as the
uncredited "co-developer" of what became known as the Heimlich

Other evidence suggests that Dr. Patrick may be the
actual inventor of what became known as the Heimlich

since 1974, Patrick, along with Drs. Henry J. Heimlich
and Victor H. Esch fabricated case reports to promote the
use of the Heimlich maneuver for near-drowning rescue,
