  1. I am getting back into cycling with a hand me down mountain bike and after a cycle today I am not
sure if the handlebars are the correct height. I read some where that the bars should be about 2 -3
cm below the height of the saddle.

    Any thoughts?

Yes, there is no arbitrary figure, what you find comfy is best. Even true mountainbikers will have
widely varying heights. By all means start at the figure you quoted but don't be afraid to
    experiment.

We all have different shapes. My arms are shorter than average (not THAT much!) so I need higher
bars too. My saddle is also positioned as forward as it can be.
