  1. Posting for the first time on this newsgroup. I'm having trouble recently with creaking noise in, i
suspect it to be, headset or stem. The noise is present by fully compressing the fork or putting any
torzional force on handlebar thus increasing load on the headset area. I dismantled everything just
the other day, gracefully greased the bearings as well as all spacer, top headset cup and stem
contact area including stem bolts and starnut (single) thread. I've tried loosening/tightening the
bolts, releaving/increasing pressure in the headset bearings and the creaking doesn't go away. All
the related parts are under one year old and the bike is in good shape because of my dedication to
servising and mantainance. Bike setup, related to the problem, is as follows: Rock Shox Duke XC
2002, standard (not integrated) TH Industries for Cane Creek headset, Race Face Prodigy 2002 stem, 2
x 10 mm spacers and Ritchey comp handlebar (if it's relevant). If you've got any helpfull hints,
advice or sugestions it would be much appreciated.

    Hrki.
