  1. Funny you should post this about headaches afterwalking. I had a really bad
one yesterday but managed to make it go away with a few paracetamols and a
generous application of one of those heat creams to the back of my neck.
Sometimes I get these headaches, then for a year I don't. Not using my
drop handlebar bicycle for a few months then suddenly using it for a
prolonged trip gives me that headache, as does going caving after an
extended break. I think it's due to pulling something in my neck. With a
walk it might be the rucksack in the wrong place, tension due to cold on the
neck even. On the bicycle and the caving I put it down to having my neck
support the weight of my head at a bad angle.
Nowadays I make sure that I have plently of paracetamol ready as a couple of
tabs taken when the symptoms appear seem to prevent a later really bad
headache with vomiting and dizziness that can last for a couple of days and
    that won't respond to paracetamol.
