  1. I called Hayes today since they're taking forever to update their website with info on the 2003 line
up. Here's the skinny on the differences from the old (2002 & b4) style hydros in case you were
    wondering.

2003 model changes: The hose now comes from the factory with a crimped fitting
mtbr.comproductpage5.shtml on the caliper side. If you
have to shorten the hose, it can only be done at the master end. The hose is backward compatible
with the earlier type calipers, but the old style hose will not work on the 2003 caliper. I'm sure
this was done to make them slightly more idiot proof. The new calipers have are vented too.

The mater cylinder (MAGxc & hd) mtbr.comproductpage3.shtml
is exactly the same as the 2002 MAG's with the following exception..Hayes was using a plastic piston
(had a pic of it, but can't find it) inside the master pbase.com7278216 , it is
    now an aluminum one.

The bladder pbase.comsmall is the same as before, which is really good
news since it is the pat. Pending secret gizmo that makes Hayes work so well.

Unfortunately, the Purple Hayes is gone forever.no more heavy duty zinc levers or cool super dark
    purple paint job ;~ (

The new downloadable manual should be ready in about 1 week and the printed manual within a
    couple weeks.

P.S. The non-MAG series are (mainly) OEM [censored] (?) that does have a different bladder. Same systems,
but the bladder does not envelop the master like the MAG's. This is one reason why they're less
expensive. Didn't get into with Hayes since these don't interest me.
