Hi Guys, I am looking for some advice on a problem I have with the free SMC contour maps for Garmin units. I successfully downloaded them all and have them working almost to my liking. The only issue I have is not being able to individually select segments of the merged map. Luckily I can select the most important ones (for me) i.e. the west highlands and Grampians. However, when I try to pick most of the other small chunks to download to my Vista, then the 'coast' map is selected. If there is a quick fix that would be fantastic. If not then step by step account would be most welcome. - 'Garmin for Dummys' PS Thank you to Dave Storey and everyone else involved in creating and hosting this excellent free resource.

What version are you using? There should not even =BE= a 'coast map' (outline only, yes?) in the current (V2) offering. (But no, I've not seen that problem with V1.2 ever. 8<,)

GSV. Problem solved. Your idea on version got me thinking. I knew the contour maps were current as I downloaded them only yesterday. However, I could not remeber the last time I updated Mapsource which has been supporting my GB Roads and Recreation map just fine. So this I duly did to V6.10.2 currently on offer on the Garmin website. The system now works fine. FYI - The problem manifested itself when I selected a segment located in most any part of mainland UK. The whole map was then shaded pink indicating selection. Under the 'Name' tab on the left of the screen was the word 'Coast' under 'Area' was 'contours'. Thank you for the reply. Al.
