After a hard race yesterday, my hamstrings starting to hurt, actually started to hurt during the race towards the end. Anyone know why? Just overuse or is it maybe something to do with my sadle height or saddle angle??

Nope, first time it happened, I did raise my saddle a little higher...but was really a little... -
Small saddle height changes can have a big effect. I'd drop the saddle back down right away and see if the pain goes away. Betcha that's the problem.

I have to agree, the slight increase, is enough to cause a slight stretch every pedal stroke... If you have access to a power meter device and you are making more power in the new position, then it's worth adapting to it. Otherwise set 'er back, and take it easy for a little bit until everything calms down.
If it is worth using the higher saddle position, make the move in increments over time. Even if the move doesn't appear to be much.
Not too many other sports will cause you to make the same movement 100 times per minute...
