I've got a good comfortable fit on my bike. Well within any of the "fit theories" curently in use.
The only trouble I have is hamstring weakness. The last couple of seasons, I end up strengthening my quads far more than my hams which leads to tightness and knee pain. I've gone the doctor - physical therapist route and now just manage it somewhat by working hard to strengthen my hamstrings with swiss ball exercises. BOARING!
As far as I know, I'm the only person who has this trouble. I'm to the point of tweaking my position to try to engage my hamstrings more while on the bike by moving my seat forward.
Anyone have a similar situation? Any suggestions or experiences that helped?
I've been tweaking my position on the bike to get more hamstring work, and on my last ride, I was sore but mostly in my hamstring, which is a good sign that it's working for me.
Surprisingly (for me), the adjustment that I made was to tilt the angle of my seat back one notch, and it felt to me that my legs were not as stretched out and I could engage my hamstrings more. One other side affect was that it lowered my position so that I had to bend closer towards the handlebars to be in the comfort zone of the saddle, which wasn't a problem for me...

What symptoms do you have that hamstring weaknesss is the problem? Just the knees? I find my hamstrings shorten with riding and lead to back pain unless I stretch them well.
