For what it's worth, I do think some (or many) riders are/were quite anonymous at
Discovery/USPS, especially in the era of LANCE. As I recall, Hammond got some
support at Paris-Roubaix (though he was injured at Gent-Wevelgem in '05 and couldn't
really race at P-R) and some of the Ardennes Classics. But I think T-Mobile has
frequently been something ofthe black hole in the peloton. Look what happened to
guys like Botero, Sevilla and Savoldelli while they were there. They basically
vanished. At least Discovery/USPS gave some help to riders in races other than the
Tour. Savoldelli at the Giro or Heras in the Vuelta, for example.

T-mob is going through a complete overhaul in management and riders so
whatever their history, it will be a totally different team. Hammond
*may* get a chance to shine, but then again, is he that good?
