  1. Hey guys,
I was just given a GT BMX Performer to sell, from the mid 90s it appears.
The bike was ridden twice and put up, but the tires are decaying, no big
deal. Where can I check the serial number to find out the year? I
checked Google to no avail. I need to sell the bike and find out a
    ballpark value.

BTW, those pegs on the wheels look like real shin splitters. Glad my
    generation *just* missed those.

on a lot of the older gt's the first 4 numbers of the serial number will tell
you when the bike was built. firts 2 are what month and the 3rd and 4th are
the year. 0198 would be jan of 1998.
