GT Aggressor 3 any good?

I'm buying a new bike. Do GT MTBs have a good reputation generally? I'm considering the GT Aggressor 3 (low-end of the price scale). It has front shocks, though they're probably not great at that price but still... Also, I'll actually be using it for commuting mainly but a little light off-road too. Any thoughts/opinions would help a lot. Thanks, Ray
