Anybody out there know of any decent mountaineering/walking groups in the
Newport area? Looking to join something reasonably well balanced, in terms
of age and spread of activities.

Not offhand, but then I'm a bit further over, on the other side of
Cardiff from you and by about the same distance. You are, however,
ideally placed (if you choose to stick around) for various
camping/walking weekends organised (or not) by regulars here...--
To reply see 'from' in headers; lose the domain, and insert dots and @
where common sense dictates. -
