  1. Hello all,

I just bought a big piece of sirloin tip, and was intending to cut it in 2
steaks and grill them on the BBQ tonight.

But now that i think of it, can sirloin tip be grilled, or is it going to
turn out super chewy and shoe-sole-ish???

I was planning on making it tonight, so i don't really have time to marinate
    it....

BTW, does anyone have a good website that lists all "eatable" parts of the
beef, and gives detailed charactersitcs of each peice of meat (how to
prepare, fat content, BBQ-able or not, etc...)

    thanks a lot

Sirloin tip is kinda tough for grilled steak, usually it needs to be
mechanically tenderized, marinated, both. You can slice off a small
chunk and grill that as a test... if too tough I would quick break out
my grinder and change the menu to burgers.

Here's mine... and that knife protector that professional butchers use
    that I promised to post.

    If I did venison (I don't), I'd never starve.

And here's those onions and garlic from my neighbor... naturally my
    Jilly gets into everything.

MMM Venison is yummy... although it really does depend on the region of
country (best guess is their diet) I grew up in Michigan, ate venison
every year. It's fantastic every way I have ever had it cooked. It has
a light, sweet flavor..yum. Moved to SouthEast GA (the Navy's fault not
mine) Had venison there - YUCK. It was tough, peppery blech...
