I've fond memories of Great Shunner Fell, after starting from Hawes in dense fog only to suddenly
emerge into bright sunshine. The fog never left the valley all day, and had covered the whole area
eastwards (I'd come from York then, it was foggy when I left and when I got back).And to think I wouldn't have bothered going because of the weather if I'd been going on my own.
