  1. Hello. Does anybody have any tips for getting reasonably priced
accommodation for the Great North Run?

I've already got accommodation for this year but have had to go through
a travel agent called Nirvana Travel who charge absolutely extortionate
mark-ups on room prices. As an example, a couple in our party are
having to pay £149 per night for a twin room in a hotel which normally
    charges £57.50 per night!

I even tried booking rooms almost a year in advance but it seems as
though Nirvana had already got there and block booked pretty much
    everything in sight.

I'd very much like to escape the clutches of Nirvana for next year so
if anybody has any tips I'd be very grateful.

"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and
more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day
the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the
White House will be adorned by a downright moron."

but George W. Bush has managed to overcome that presumption."

  3. Are you talking about the great north run in Britain? I don't know about
hotels in newcastle area but this price sounds very expensive!!. How about
B&B they shouldn't cost more than 50 per night max. Just search "b&b
    newcastle" etc. Hope it helps.

    Panos.

  4. I live on the coast, about 8 miles from the start of the Great North
Run. If you can find a Bed and Breakfast or Hotel in Whitley Bay,
Tynemouth, South Shields, then you'll be within easy 'Metro" distance
from the start and you'll get to enjoy our beautiful coastline.
