Outstanding, Barrie. Great evocative photos. Something tells me
you'll be back in the Pyrenees, too! Until you've gone
coast-to-coast like that, you don't really think of these mountains in
the same way - the downside is that you can't convey the whole
experience to folks back home without dragging them along with you.

Now you've finished, it would help if the blog was rearranged to
appear in chronological order, but I quite see why you didn't do that
on the hoof - I think you did remarkably well even to find the number
of internet accesses you did.

Anyone who hasn't looked at Barrie's blog should do so; he modestly
also doesn't say he was fundraising for a worthy cause.

I just got back from the Pyrenees but was only there for a week. The
weather was stunning, despite the forecast every day being quite
wrongly for rain, and the scenery spectacular. Stayed in moutain huts
which was an experience. There should be special rules for snorers.

Your pictures look great. I'd love to go back and do some peak
bagging. There seems not to be a great deal of documentation on
routes. Having got much of the way up Pic de Barrancs I found myself
facing huge cliffs which were protecting the summit.

More terrific photos - I wish I got the same results when I pointed my
camera at (some of) the same things!

Have a look at Kev Reynolds' books on the Pyrenees, both walking and
scrambling/climbing.

Or e me off-group for some more localized publications, just a little
east of where you were.
