Got me an old MTB. Haven't road it in a few years. I want to loose weight and get in shape. I know there not built for speed, but do you thing it's possible to drop some weight riding it. It also has slicks for the street.

what, you mean is it possible to get fit and lose weight by riding a bicycle? now there is a novel idea...
stay off the pies, beer and fries and it might just be possible. Oil the squeaky parts and pump up the tyres (i am talking about the bike now) do a few miles every day and take it from there...it worked for that little skinny guy that keeps winning the TDF.
