I'm going to be travelling to Manchester for a World Cup Track event in a couple of weeks with an athlete I coach and I need to take a good floor pump with me (i.e. something that can go up to 180 or 200 psi). The pump I usually take is rather heavy (a Silca Super Pista) and weight is a consideration for us with regards to how much the airlines will let you carry. Three or four hundred grams here, three or four hundred grams there -- it all adds up pretty quickly. Can anyone recommend a pump that can go to high pressures but isn't quite as heavy as my Silca Super Pista (which weighs at something around 6 lbs)?

If you're at the track, won't they have one there? - a much lighter choice. (I'd check though)
And they do sell these things on this side of the pond :-)
At these events, it's best to be entirely self sufficient. Enough stress without worrying about whether someone will let you borrow their pump. Were it a race with less at stake, your suggestion is a perfectly good and sensible one...
