I have Shimano Ultegra on my road bike, and I desparately need new brake pads. The stock pads are sad. I've been using them for a few months. Apparently, this is what a lot of people say about Shimano pads. However, I read one guy say that the Dura Ace pads are actually made by Shimano and are much better.
Try Kool Stop Salmon pads for wet & dry conditions. They don't eat your rims (like the Shimano Pads) and they brake better. Google it!
I bought mine mail order from Harris Cyclery.
Thanks. After reading up on themat various places, I went with the Salmon pads. Black would look better, but others have commented on the web that the Salmon one grab better. While the black would look nicer, better breaking is more important.

in reality almost ANY aftermarket pad is going to be better than standard shimano - Koolstop last longer but that seems to be the only difference that non-racers will notice , mostly it´s down to feel .
