Does anyone have a suggestion on what type of bike rack I can get that is dependable?
I had a "Bones" (I think). It was several years old, and last year, I dumped my new bike at about 45 mph. It was partly my fault, I didn't have it strapped in correctly (I found out later). However, the "stop" that kept the bike in place snapped off, allowing the bike to dis-mount my car. I've been stuffing my bike inside my car ever since.
Now, my son (5 yrs.) likes to ride with me, and it is a pain to load the two bikes inside my car (Honda CR-V). Can anyone give me advice on what I need?
Strap/Adjustable - a little hesitant since my other one broke. Also, a pain to get it strapped on the car. Although, it's the cheapest route.
Roof mount - seems to be the professionals choice. I park in a covered garage at work, so if I decided to take my bike to work with me, it wouldn't fit in the garage.
Hitch mount - seems like a good idea. I would have to get a hitch. Anyone have any problems with this type?
Thanks.
