While I have been riding for years I have never used clipless pedals. I just invested in my first real "roadie" bike and need shoes and pedals. I really like old school stuff and want to wear merckx adidas shoes. Any advice on a modern pedal that works with these? The pair I found are NOS from the box, do I need to buy cleats or do they already have them? Thanks for your patience. Ex-courier, getting old, getting gears, getting roadie.

Hi Amanda718,
Could you post up a photo or a link to a photo of the shoe's sole/tread? I did a little googling and they look like they'd support a look & SPD type cleat. I think speedplays mount onto LOOK drilling with an adapter.
Cheers!
Joe
