Having said that, most (90%+) car drivers never cause me any problem. It's WVM parked up in cycle lanes, or busses overtaking then pulling straight in, that cause the problem.
Vanishing cycle-lanes and no markings don't help either.

I think it's an entirely excellent *positive* campaign. I see the sticker in the rear window of my car as me, a motorist, saying to other motorists that cyclists need room. It's also a good signal to a motorist following me that if there's a cyclist ahead, I will be giving said cyclist room and will be prepared to stay behind the cyclist until it's safe to overtake...

Absolutely - nothing more annoying when you're driving and slow to allow a cyclist room to safely overtake and you get impatient drivers tailgating because they think you *should* be overtaking that cyclist on a blind corner!

I find a sharp dab on the brakes is a good way of discouraging cars that are trying to crawl up my exhaust :-)
Its also the Great Yorkshire Bike Ride this Saturday, 1500 cyclists riding out from Wetherby to Filey.
Now THAT has potential for some interesting mix-ups with navigationally- challenged AUKs doing the first leg of the 3 Coasts (Mytholmroyd -> Brid and back)
Washing the windscreen sometimes discourages those tailgaters

That was enough to get someone shouting abuse and undertaking me whilst i was indicating right to pull in and let them past on a very crowded M11 last weekend. The heat must have been doing something to peoples brains. Further into London a car had had a blowout in the outside lane and was trying to pull to the hard shoulder. Needless to say people were still heading past at speed inside them and when i stopped and put the hazards on while they pulled across in front of me the car behind was on the horn and overtaking. just lovely.
Good campaign by the way. I'll be getting a sticker - it's looking like being a good summer for cycle activism. First the seemingly successful amendments to the highway code, Give Cyclists Room, Stop on Red and a whole week of puff pieces in the Independent.

The most likely reason someone wouldn't believe in stopping at red lights would be because they're an arrogant [censored], not a nutter.

Answered when this topic got originally aired here a few weeks back.
You're not exactly a newbie here, and Helen hasn't held back in explaining her opinions in these matters over the years. But I'll repeat it again, since it still hasn't sunk in : Helen does think cyclists should stop at red lights.
