OK, well I don't have experience of these but my mate bought some about a couple of months back. His
comments were along the lines of ....Not bad for the £79.95 he paid, a bit heavy but seem strong
enough. He's about 180-185 lbs BTW and having seen these things I'd say they'll be ok for a 200 lb
rider. Probably more of a training rather than a racing wheelset but they look OK at close quaters
if you like black wheels (which I don't they tend to look cheap 'n nasty in black).

It looks like you can get em considerably cheaper here which seems unusual. Maybe you have someone
who can bring a pair over for you :-)

Hi Rob,

Those wheels have been on special offer from various shops in the UK and are available for around
£80 if 'we' shop around. I cannot speak for the quattro's but I have been running Tecnos for 2 years
now without any problem. The hubs are decent quality and because I used them through 2 winters I
changed the cartridge bearings a few months ago which was a very painless operation. Gipiemme
support seems good as well, I contacted them after I had the wheels for 18 months and asked what I
could do about the graphics on the rims which had worn slightly (due to my over zealous cleaning),
and within 5 days I received a complete new set of stickers which made my wheels look new again.

Gipiemme's are not particularly light and that is reflected in the price. However, as a set of
'boutique' training wheels they have, and will continue to serve me well...they have yet needed
any truing.

I'd say go for it, or have a set built for you with slightly more conventional lacing...maybe
Campag/ShimaNo (not sure which way you swing!) hubs, suspended between a set of Open Pro rims.

I do not see you body weight as an issue with Gipiemme's.
