Gilmour Frames

Mr. Gilmour lives here in Tucson, and I believe is still making custom
frames. From what I know, his stuff is quite nice, very well made, and
very professional. A friend of mine had Gilmour custom build him a bike
back in the mid '80's, and still loves it.

In the early 90's I moved to Tucson, met Andy during the infamous Shoot
Out rides. After about 6 months I went to him to have a frame built.
He didn't seem too interested in hearing my input into what I wanted.
As he put it, he'd seen me ride for 6 months and knew what I needed.
As he put it, he'd built over 1,500 frames, and I'd been riding for 3
years and had built NO frames. He said if I didn't like what he built,
he'd refund my money. He didn't even measure me or my current bike.

Long story short: best frame I've ever owned. I don't think it was a
coincidence.

Andy Bishop rode his bikes repainted as any number of sponsors' bikes
through his career, as did Steve Speaks and others.
