A supercycle 21 speed -- $200
A Norco Pinnacle -- $320
A Giant Boulder SE -- $420
I am willing to spend the extra $$, however, is it worth the extra dough.
I have a 5 yr old Supercycle that i got for $150. it has served me well.
Opinions?
Where are you riding this bike? If you're hitting gravel paths and
averaging 15 km/h, stick with the old Supercycle.
Supercycle, for those who don't know, is a house brand of Canadian Tire,
a major department store.
I would suggest the Pinnacle is not too horrible: decent frame,
acceptably functional components, and a semi-awful suspension fork. As a
first mountain bike, it will do fine for light trail work, and maybe
even more than that. I wouldn't race it.
If nothing else, the fact that the Giant and Norco can only be bought
through a bike shop means that the setup and fit will be properly
attended to.
