I am looking into buying a Giant Escape. I want a bike that I sit upright and like the feel of the Giant. I was considering checking out other brands as well such as Cannondale. This is my first bike. What bikes could be comparable to the Giant Escape 1w that anyone would suggest. Or does anyone with a Giant have any feedback? Thanks in advance.

Amie, just about all of the mainstream brands ( Trek, Cannondale, Specialized, Felt, Fuji, etc.... ) are going to have bikes comparable to the Giant brand.
I think the best thing to do is to test ride as many different bike brands as you can that are that same type of bike and are in the same price range. See which bike you like the best and, very importantly, which bike shop you like the best. A good price for the bike is a great thing....but, you also need a bike shop that will treat you right after they sell you the bike.
