Have you heard about the Ghost Cycle Project in Seattle? It’s kind of a cool thing. They collected a bunch of reports about bicycle accidents. At the location of each accident they placed a wrecked bicycle, painted white, with a sign, “A Cyclist was struck there. www.ghostcycle.org.” Kind of like a cross between a bicycle safety awareness project and an art installation.
Riding around town, you see these things all over the place. It’s been fun.
It's a good idea. People have been doing this in Toronto for years. Only difference is 'they' paint a bicycle on the road where it was struck.
Truthfully I don't think it makes any difference to car drivers. Too many cyclists breaking the rules of the road to garner any real sympathy or respect.
