GF or Trek

Are they better than a Tassajaras? Finally, I guess, would rebuilding my 6000 be worth it instead of buying one of the bikes I mentioned above and just getting a new one for her?

Sorry, can't give you any advice on which bikes to buy. It's going to depend on how deep the pockets are and how good the bicycle fits each of you.

If you like sitting back further over the rear wheel, the GF is where it's at. It's all going to depend on your and your wife's riding style and what kind of trails you'll be riding on.

On rebuilding your 6000, it's going to depend on how much you'd have to put into it to get it back to where it rode like new. That can be pretty costly unless you can do the work yourself and spend a few months locating bargains on parts. For many people on this forum, rebuilding a bike is a labor of love and is not done because it makes the most sense monitarily.
