  1. I'm still sitting on my ass.

I'm starting again tomorrow. Run/walk for two miles? Any suggestions?
Been sitting in a pity party due to some personal situations, but I'm 39,
and don't want to have a heart attack.

    3 years ago I was running 50 miles a week, and ran a 19 min 5k.

But that was 40 pounds ago.

Yes. Ring us back up again AFTER that first run.

    Yeah.

Walk a ton. You've run 50 miles/week, you can surely walk for miles at
    a time.

Run a bit (but probably short & slow, and maybe with diff shoes than yr
previous, if you're 40 lbs overweight).

See some kind of psycho-medico-doctor-counselor. Get a rec from
someone you trust, not a phone book. If it's strictly the one-time
acute situational pity party you make it out to be, the right person
(medico- not necessary) may help get you turned around faster. If
there are additional factors at work (zillions of possibilities) they
    should get addressed.

Get plenty of sun. Good to combine with the walking and the running.

Eat well, sleep well. Treat yourself right. Realize that beating
yourself up doesn't help, but that doesn't mean you don't need *some*
kind of fire lit under you. The balance often isn't easy.

However you do it, make it fun. Walk at first. Then start running a little
during walks. Find interesting courses to walk/run if possible. Choose one
other activity besides the walk/run thing and do that every other day. If
after 6 months+ you want to focus on running more then you can, but ease
back into consistent exercise and start to lose the extra weight.
