  1. Aw ek!!! Ive bought me sen an all lights flashing wiz bang lap top to
replace me aged workhorse now consigned to the Knackers Yard( Connie her
name was, lovely lass, unfortunately she stopped responding to my tender
    touch).

Now Gek (Geko 201) wont join up!!!! The flippin leads wrong!!!!

The lead i originally had had loads of pins but wiz bang lap top cant
accommodate :-( (Not a good start to our relationship).

Apparently i need a Youessbelead(sorry:-), but it costs a packet.

    Is there a cheaper way?

    Cheers

    Hi,

I had the same problem.. I ended up buying a USB to Serial adapter for about
£15. You should be able to get one for around this price.
    http://www.dabs.com/uk/Search2/Product+Details.htm?quicklinx=2VWM&searchphrase=usb%20to%20serial
This is the one I bought, but they all do the same job so you can hunt for a
    better price!
    Hope this helps!
    Ian.

And this is the one I bought for a whole £8.

Works a treat once you've installed the drivers.
