  1. After many years of running an injury has forced me to quit so in order to keep fit I bought myself a bike (carrera vulcan) however recently the gears have started to slip and now when I think I'm in third for example I am actually in fourth which also means I am unable to get first please can anyone help me out
I am useless I know but I've only had the bike for approx eight weeks and have never owned a bike for around twenty years and was really beginning to enjoy myself until this

  2. Your shift cables probably just need adjusted. Check out this link, and scroll down to the section titled "Checking the Rear Indexing Adjustment"--this is what you need to do. This is not very hard, but if you have problems and think you have made anything a whole lot worse, it may be best to head to the shop that you bought it from (they often offer a free tune up shortly after you buy the bike). Good luck!!
