  1. Hi all

I have a new bike with Campagnolo Record 13/29 cassette, and medium cage (as recommended) on the back. Front derailleur is the standard for this group, and the cranck is FSA Team Issue. In general, all is working smooth, but surprisingly, while on the small chainring and on the fifth gear (39/19), I hear a disturbing noise. I am wondering what is the source of this noise, and is there a way to get reed of it. Help will be much appreciated. Thanks, Danny

Is this noise coming from the bike or somewhere in the ozone? Is the chain rubbing the FD, indicating a need to trim it?

Yes, of course. The noise is coming from the Chain/cassette joint. Obviously, something is not synchronized when I am in fifth (39/19) gear. Regards, Danny

If the sprockets used are those indicated in the table on page 5 in the Campy Record cassette instructions and are correctly timed, the small impressed circles should form a regular , helical curve.
There are different spacers for different configuations. Is it possible you have a wrong spacer in there?
Spacing should be perfectly uniform. You should be able to guage it by eye, but if not, maybe the correct combination of feeler guages. Spacing is 2.42 mm.
Instructions for the cassette are on line via pdf at ULR:

you will need to click the link on that page.
