I found a Gary Fisher Model number BS:6102/TARPON, SILVER SERIES ALUMINUM mountain bike for sale on Craigs List. The seller doesn't know much about the bike as he has only been on it 5 or 6 times. He says it has an RST Front Shock and CI-Deck Plus written on shifters. He says it retailed for $899 last year. Appears to be a bargain at $350. I can't find out much about the bike on the internet.
Anyone familiar with this bike and can offer a recommendation?
If the dude paid $800 for a Tarpon, he got ripped off. The Tarpon is one of the lowest end GFs out there.

I wouldnt pay more than $250 for it, and that assumes its in great shape.

I managed a shop where these exact models retailed for roughly $850.00, a distincitve yet somewhat rare bike Concluding not very many of this model were made. In just decent condition this bicycle would sell for no less than $550.00 in my used bike shop, I would say this person is very unfamiliar with fishers to be letting that go for so cheap!!
Dude: First, the thread is 5 years old. Second, the Tarpons MSRP is still $470. Its a decent starter bike, and a great frame, but the components and fork are [censored] for long term serious riding,
