    If they do a better job at securing the garmin head unit, I reckon they'd be worth the small investment.

    Take a look at the following sites: Bike Radar Road.cc VeloNews They've all done reviews of different Garmin mounts. Right now there are such mounts made by K-Edge, Bar Fly, Garmin, SRAM, and others. The Bar-Fly is very popular as is the K-Edge. If I had a Garmin that fit in such a mount (my Garmin 705 doesn't), I'd definitely use such a mount since such a mount provides better visibility without distracting your attention from the road as much as a typical mount would.

    I use the K Edge Garmin mount. Works great. Much better then the Garmin mount in my opinion. But pricey.
