  1. Has anyone here on the newsgroup had problems with their Garmin Forerunner
blanking out due to wetness or extreme sweat? This happend to me 2 years
ago, and since I could not get the unit to work again, I turned it in for
another one, as I was withing the warranty period.

I've had similar problems this month, but the unit still works--after I've
noticed it go blank, I can start it up again. I've also noticed that the
unit blanks out when it's extremely hot--a couple of times I was running
when it was in the 90's--and the same thing happend.

Of course, the unit is out of warranty now, so having it repaired will cost
    something--

I have the original Garmin Forerunner 100 series, which uses the AAA
batteries and does not have the PC interface.

    Thanks in advance--

This happened to me once. I did a hard reset and reinstalled the latest
firmware. I haven't had that problem since then. YMMV

Oops. I guess you can't do the firmware updgrade with your 100 version of
the Forerunner. This is a good time to get the 301. ;-)
