  1. Both my wife and I have Garmin Forerunners which we use to
track our runs. We routinely download our runs to our PC
using the Logbook software with 2 separate user accounts.
Mine works flawlessly, displaying all the information in
text and graphically (maps, pace, elevation plots, etc.). My
wife's text data is correct. However, the maps and plots
never cover more than 200 ft in the first lap/mile and are
blank thereafter. As far as I can tell, our settings in the
watch are identical, and both watches run with version 3.3
of the firmware. Anyone have any ideas? Is my wife's watch
    defective?

I used to have the same problem. I fixed it by deleting the
user account, resetting the watch to factory defaults, and
    reinstalling the latest firmware.

I got this response from the Yahoo GarminF group:

    << I would suggest a hard reset on your wife's unit - I am
only sending one Forerunner to my PC but I was seeing the
same behaviour and a hard reset fixed it. There must be a
bug of some sorts that (hopefully) Garmin is working out.

I can't remember how to do the reset - look in the
archives of this list to find it. It will delete any
stored runs and settings on the unit, so make sure you
have done the download before you do the reset so that you
    don't lose anything!

Anyone know how to do a "hard reset"? I found an old posting
that says: "turn off and then hold the mode button while
pushing the power button." Is that correct?
