  1. Right Ive had this a few weeks now everything is going fine.

Today I did a walk and forgot to turn the track log on so I've got
half a track from when I remembered.

I'm going to do the walk again backwards and using the trackback
feature will the GPS also record the track as I want a full track not
just the bit I managed to record today.

If you interested in track recording, you need a copy of OZIExplorer,
then you can use your PC to store, modify, examine, re-load tracks or
bits of tracks to suit yourself - and a load of other useful things.
Go get it (there is a useful free trial, but the real thing is well
worth the money). (only a happy user, no connection ....)

PS always leave the tracklog on <g>

  3. I keep the track log turned on all the time on my Legend, when it's
full up it just over writes the oldest track point, not lost any track
points yet - 10.5mile walk round Coniston only used up 2k track points,
so you have to do quite abit before it starts over writing.

After each walk I save the track to my PC using the free G7ToWin, as
the track points are time stamped and marked everytime the gps is
turned on or coverage is lost it's pretty easy to identify the
    start/end of your track

Example of what I did with my track data of Coniston Old Man :-

  4. Missed most of the postings on this subject, but I'll tell you what
_not_ to do with your Etrex Legend. It's not to rely on the belt clip,
no matter how secure it seems. My Legend has been on the slopes on Beinn
a Buird since last year because it came off the clip!

Sorry to hear. Do you have an exact grid ref where it's located?
