Can somebody please explain the Wireless connectivity and how it works? Will it connect wireless to the phone in my pocket running map my ride app? Or is it wireless to my computer to upload rides? Is there any benefit to using mapmyride or strava with a GPS unit? I am going to buy one just didnt know if the wireless feature is necessary. And should I be looking at the Magellan GPS also or is the Garmin Edge clearly better?

My 550 has bluetooth connectivity. From the head unit, to phone and from phone to Garmin Connect. I am not sure if it works with other services.
