hey bikedude,
I just bought the 305, main reasons i chose it over the 205 is it has Cadence and Heart Rate (as optionals). Other than that they are pretty much identical. The cadence is a nice feature because it also has the wheel speed sensor so you can use the computer inside on the trainer/rollers, with the 205 (and the 305 without cadence) it only calculates speed from the GPS, so if your not moving anywhere it doesn't calculate a speed. Plus the cadence is wireless, so it was much nicer than others with wire cadence. Also, the 305 will give you your total ascent and descent for your ride where the 205 will not. Both units are very nice, just depends on what info your looking for.

Well, I don't care about heart rate or cadence (on the computer, anyhow), but I do want to be able to see app. how fast I'm going on the trainer. So, the 205 calculates on GPS? That's weird. I think the 205 would be more effecient, but the 305 would be better for the off-season- like now!

Bought two 305's for my wife and I from www.Chumbo.com
We love coming home and analyzing how we did on our rides.
It gives us more of an incentive to ride stronger IMHO.If you decide to splurge on the 305 I think you're gonna like it.
