Traveling from northwest Ohio as part of vacationing I'm thinking of doing
the Full Vineman as my first iron distance race. Any thoughts on the race
from those who have done it?

I've done the 1/2. It is Ok, nothing worth "traveling: for. If you
are already out here then it would be a fine race to do. Nothing too
hard, however it is quite hot. The napa region is usually dry and
brown by then. I would recommend Auburn in May if you want a beautiful
california course. -

I have done both the 1/2 and full. The bike course is scenic.
The full is much less crouded than the 1/2, about 600 - 700 total
with half of those in the relay. It is a low cost IM but is
no frills as you might expect. The drawback that I don't like
is that it is point to point race with no bus to the start line.It is a good race but for my first I were to choose my first again
I would choose an IM North America race.Steve W.
