Anaesthetists are pretty cluey about the different anaesthesia methods. I
wouldn't worry about this. Mention it of course.

These are good questions to ask the surgeon. You should also mention to him
that you want to consider endoluminal repair; he shouldn't be offended.

You certainly have the right to have input into your surgery. The doctors
will consider any reasonable concerns and desires that you have. A patient
that I know of died on Sunday because she had a 10cm AAA and didn't want it
repaired.

I cannot comment on the comments at the beginning of your message.

Just wanted to say that you can ask what you like. In fact, the moe
questions, the better. I'm in the UK too and I look everything up on
the Internet. Use Google and enter something like "stenting+patient
suitability" or, "ditto+advantages" or "disadvantages". I was in a
Manchester hospital recently having a pacemaker fitted and people were
coming and going all day having stents done. I chatted to a lot of
them soon after thir procedures and definitely got the impression they
did not have GAs. They went hom after one night. I told the consultant
doing my PM that I wanted plenty of sedation (due to a bad experience
with an angiogram). He was very good and agreed to up it if I let
