There have been several reports on the net of injury to the side of the head, as well as the face and forehead, while wearing a helmet; so why doesn't anyone sell a full-coverage helmet for bicyclists? Isn't anyone from Bell on the net? I promise to buy one as soon as it hits the market! I don't care if the ventilation is inferior the the V1-Pro; half the year I'm wearing ear-muffs and have tape over the vent holes.
After my sister-in-law wiped out on a motorscooter, there were some real impressive scratches in the face shield. It's bad enough scraping up your hands and knees and shoulders--I'd like to keep my face intact. I even looked at motorcycle helmets, but those things weigh a ton--not too appealing.
So, come on, netters! Next time the market researcher calls on you, let 'em know you're ready to spend your hard-earned dollars on up-grading your head protection.

They are available and can be found easy with a simple google search, your looking for "Downhill Mountain Bike Racing Helmets".
The problem with a lot of the full face helmets is they block your hearing so you can't hear cars coming up from behind until they are right on top of you.
This design and similar would still allow you to hear and provide some protection to the chin and side of the face.
I recently fell hard on my side in a A grade veterans sprint at around 55 km/h I hit my head very hard on the side, the helmet was a normal ( not full face ) Flyte and I thought when I impacted that I had hit my head, but there was no marks it was just the force of the impact coming through the helmet into my temple area.

Fullface Helmet for just $49.97 I did not realize they were that cheap. A parapellegic issue is kind of crash resistant, but not the same coverage as these.
