Hi
I have a set of Fulcrum Racing 1's with about 4000 kms on them. Recently the rear wheel has developed a pinging noise when I pedal . I thought it might be some other part of the drive train so I swapped the wheel with a buddy and the noise transferred to his bike. The hub bearings are fine and the wheel runs true with no visible cracks in the rim
The noise goes away if it rains (every day here in Ireland this summer)
Anybody got any ideas?

Sounds like a spoke is rubbing due to loss of tension. Rain water could be acting as some type of lube dampening the noise.

Anybody got any ideas?my mate at the cycleshop was going burk because a spinergy mtd wheel was noisy when the rear brake was applied - turned out to be that the skewer was too thin , go figure .
