  1. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this event.

    Is it well run etc

I am planning on this being my 1st IM distance event 2 months after my 1st
    half.

    Hi,

I've not done the race myself, but the link below has a couple of race
    reports for the Vineman.

Vineman is a very well run race in a very scenic part of California. The
swim is in the Russian River, which has almost no current in late July.
Water temperature is on the cool side, and they do allow wetsuits. The bike
is a double loop that takes you through some nice scenery past several
vinyards. There's a couple of serious, but not over-the-top climbs. I
believe that the run course has changed since I did Vineman, but there are
no serious hills, just some short rollers.

The weather in Sonoma County in late July is usually cool in the morning but
sometimes hot in the afternoon. Aid stations are something like every 10
miles on the bike and every mile on the run.

One navigation tip worth mentioning - it is easy to get lost in nearby
    Sebastopol! :-)
