For sale:
Lejeune track bike approx 22". Rearward facing throwouts. Fork crown
drilled for brake. Has easily removable Weinmann sidepull brake
installed. Chainset is Stronglight 50 gear ring. Seatpost, standard
French 26.4 OD. The saddle is quite hard as it is a track bike. Stem is
either a Pivo or 3ttt, very long, 105mm throw at least. Handlebars are
standard Randanoeur shape. Aluminum cleat-type pedals.
Two sets of wheels.
One set is a set of road training tubular rims w/ quick release hubs.
The rear wheel has a very clever dual gear design, one gear on each
side of the hub so that the wheel can be easily switched from one gear
to the other. Both gears lock on to the hub. One gear is a 15, the
other a 21. 290g road tires installed. Normal road use wear and tear on
the rims. Some tune up required.
The other set of wheels is a hand built TRACK racing tubular set with
Campy bolt-down hubs. The rear gear is 15. These are real track wheels
and extremely light. No tires.
Both wheel sets are spoked, with aluminum rims.
The frame is all steel Reynolds 531 butted, machine brazed. No dents,
no wrecks, no rust. This bike was never crashed or wrecked, never
dropped in the street. Paint is red albeit chipped and dirty from
normal use. Headset and BB are in good shape no pits, cups are good.
This bike is 30 years old. I raced it while a LAW/USCF Junior rider on
the Kissena and Trexlertown velos in the 1970's.
