Selling the above item:
Frame: 1999 Control Tech Easton Alloy Frame; 17 inch size
(large 17). For those who don't know, Control Tech (the
long time manufacturer of bar-ends, handlebars, seatposts,
etc.) made these frames for a few years in the late 90's.
For years before, they had been building frames under
contract for various other companies, finally building
their own branded frames. The hardtail frames retailed for
$8-900. This one is painted a bright red, and called the
Control Tech Team-Issue. Some frame features are a
machined chainstay yoke (similiar to late HomeGrowns),
wishbone stays, staggered cable stops, and a slightly
sloping top tube. As a Washington company, the bike has a
"west-coast" geometry.
I built the bike with parts I felt were affordable,
yet durable.
For instance: Control-Tech Team issue stem (with hinged face
clamp) Race Face XC rise h-bars Avid Mag Brake Levers
Thompson Seatpost XT 8-speed DriveTrain (9spd R-Der, Hollow-
tech splined crankset, and XTR frt-Der) LX Shifters Manitou
Mars Comp Fork Cane Creek Headset
Asking $600
The wheels are tired (Sun XC rims, XTR front hub, LX rear).
I can sell with a brand new set of Mavic Crossrides for an
extra $200 (retail $300)
