With just a bit of a heavy heart, I must offer this lovely frame for sale.
The frame and fork are 1999 vintage Waterford, the R-1200 model.
This frame features silver brazed Henry James lugs which couple Reynolds 753
tubes. For years, 753 was Reynolds' flagship tubeset. Reynolds would only
sell this tubeset to brazers who had been certified as proficient in its
use. Nobody did it better than Waterford. Note that 753 tubing is no longer
available, apparently the number of builders willing to submit to Reynolds'
certification process was not large enough for them to continue to produce
this classic tubing.
This frame was purchased new in 1999. It sat unridden for a total of two
years during that time as I flirted with aluminum.
The frame is stock Waterford geometry with the addition of a 1.5cm head tube
extension. Its a gorgeous blue, (Waterford calls it Blue Flame metallic.)
The head tube is painted a contrasting white and a white panel runs along
the seat tube too. I've always received comments on how attractive this bike
looks.
There are a few chips in the paint and a couple of small scratches. The bike
has been ridden, but never crashed. There are no dents or dings on this
frame.
I'll also include an American Classic seatpost, an installed Dura-Ace
headset and two matching bottle cages.

Top tube- 58cm center to center
Head tube angle- 74 degrees
Seat tube angle- 73 degrees
Standover 84cm (with 23mm tires)
Wheelbase- 99.5 cm
Chainstay length- 41cm
This is a beautiful frame that rides as only a steel frame does, comfortable
over long distances, yet quick in a sprint.
I'd like $950 for the lot. If you check the Waterford website you'll see
that this is less than half of what it would cost to have a similarly
finished Waterford built today. I'll arrange for packing, but shipping will
be the buyer's expense.
