To make a looong story short, I turned my old crappy mountain bike into a single speed commuter a
few years ago. Tossed the front derailleur as it was broken anyway.
As I'll be using this bike for a several week tour in Asia soon, I've recently been 're-gearing' it
and got an LX derailleur on ebay.
Oops. Wrong size. The tube is 1 1/4, the derailleur is 1 1/8. But, it _looks_ like I can make it
work by getting a slightly longer bolt.
Just how stupid of an idea is this?
