Several weeks ago I had a bad day cycling (details on another thread) but this past Saturday I went to a local charity event and did a 52 mile ride in my fastest ever average speed for a ride of that distance (19 mph). In one section of the ride, I actually pulled the pack up a long grade. Felt like a real cyclist. Anyway, I know that's not incredibly fast but I am slowly getting stronger.

Way to go! That kind of thing always feels good. I've helped pull a pack of folks into a headwind when I thought everyone behind me were stronger riders, and then I've been on the back of a paceline barely hanging on to several folks half my age.

Well done! All that suffering hasn't been in vain.
I did a solo 31mi/1529ft ridewithgps.com847773Open ↗ at 15.5mph avg on Saturday and was feeling happy but I've only been riding since last summer and haven't had bad days yet.
